But if you think it’s hard enough to do on its own, imagine turning it into a stop motion movie of classic video games while you assemble it.

My new phone. The Samsung S8 in orchid something.

There was that feeling that my Samsung S6 Edge Plus would be pried from my cold dead hand, then I saw the Samsung S8 Plus commercial. It only took one time seeing the Samsung S8 filming a shark to make my eyes wander.  Let me repeat that, a man in a shark cage recording a shark! It filled my little photographer heart with joy. Who wouldn’t want to be filming inside a shark cage? While being swept up in the excitement of a water proof phone, my husband pointed out that 1. When we were in the Bahamas I was nervous about snorkeling. Sharks would make things a lot scarier. 2. It was a shark, they bite. 3. Sharks, bite. He didn’t mention 4. which would be, that based on my past experiences if  a shark cage failed it would be me inside and the shark would bite me and swallow my new phone.

It’s 2am, you are alone, you turn on the radio and there he is, a DJ playing “Love Songs”.
His deep voice saying,  “Love songs, all night long, love songs.”
When you have the speakers turned up loud enough to scare the cat, he plays THAT song. The one that rips into to you.
What do you hear him saying?  “Love songs, crawl in the bathtub and slit your wrists, love songs.”

Damselfish larvae that has ingested microplastic particles. (Image: Oona M. Lönnstedt)

A headline grabbingstudy published in Science last year that warned about the effects of plastic microbeads on larval fish is on the verge of being retracted. In a case involving missing data, shoddy research methods, and outright fabrication, it’s one of the most egregious examples of scientific fraud we’ve seen in quite some time, and a case in which there’s plenty of blame to go around.
