WHO:  Wyoming native singer/songwriter Bryan Ragsdale (www.bryanragsdale.com) redefines “cowboy cool” for the modern world with an upbeat mix of country, bluegrass, folk, and a touch of old fashioned cowboy swagger.  Celebrating the lifestyle, values and love of wide open spaces Where Cowpokes Grow—the name of his latest independent CD, Ragsdale is ready to hit the open road with tour dates lined up from August through late October.  A U.S. Veteran and conservationist, Ragsdale performs at more than 200 public and private events a year.  His first single “Modern Day Mountain Man” off his new album was released through RCI Music in Franklin, TN to more than 500 Americana, Country and college radio stations across the U.S. on the competition based website www.ourstage.com.  The track reached #2 in both the bluegrass and traditional country genres for two months each.

WHAT: In addition to performing music from his new album Where Cowpokes Grow and his 2007 debut album Wyoming Melodies, Ragsdale will lead songwriting classes and workshops at multiple libraries, and offer advice to aspiring singers and songwriters. Other tour highlights include a performance at Art on the Green for the City of Green River Wyoming (Aug. 21), an event held by the Wyoming Art Council of which Ragsdale is a member, Wednesday Night Live at The Nicolaysen Museum in Casper, WY (Aug. 26), and the annual Cheyenne Heart of the West Cowboy Festival (Sept. 5). For his biggest event, the modern music cowboy is set to perform at Cam-plex Heritage Center in Gillette, WY for their Family Friendly Shows Series (Oct. 30).  The renowned Cam-plex is a state-of-the-art event facility along with RV Parks situated on 1,100 acres.
