Wyoming native singer-songwriter Bryan Ragsdale’s (www.bryanragsdale.com) creative, upbeat blend of country, bluegrass, and folk music on his new album, Where Cowpokes Grow has people buzzing left and right. His eclectic mix of genres gained him a nomination in the Country Song of the Year category, for his track “Modern Day Mountain Man” for the Independent Singer Songwriter Association’s Song Contest (www.issa-music.org/nominees/bryan_ragsdale.htm). The organization supports independent singer-songwriters and the contest’s main objective is to help promote the artist to a larger audience. Winners of their annual ISSA Song Contest 2009 will be announced this November.

Ragsdale, a U.S Veteran and conservationist, has released the single “Modern Day Mountain Man” through RCI Music Promotion to more than 500 radio stations worldwide in the U.S., England, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, and Australia. It has already reached #2 on both bluegrass and traditional country genre stations.

“Modern Day Mountain Man” will also be featured in the Listen Up! section of County Weekly Magazine (www.countryweekly.com) in an upcoming issue, where readers will be able to download the track for free for a limited time.

However, Ragsdale isn’t just successful in the U.S., The Netherlands has recently picked up his track “Little Jo” for rotation on their country station Nashville FM and UK’s Maverick will feature an album review for Where Cowpokes Grow for the November 2009 issue. The French Association of Country Music also spotlighted Where Cowpokes Grow (http://facm.free.fr/news20.htm#ragsdale) saying the album was “SUPERBE!”

The emerging singer will continue his fall tour, with four dates performing at local schools in Campbell County, WY (October 26 – 30) Then onto Ragsdale’s biggest event to date, performing at Cam-plex Heritage Center in Gillette, WY for their Family Friendly Shows Series (October 30). The Cam-plex is a state-of-the-art event facility with accommodating RV Parks situated on 1,100 acres. His tour will also include shows at local schools in Campbell County.
