Where youngsters can learn to play instruments! It ’s another great weekend of events at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Fla with the Suwannee Spirit Kids Music Camp, Mike Mullis and his variety show and Southern Rukus Band! It will be music and fun all weekend!

SPIRIT OF THE SUWANNEE MUSIC PARK, LIVE OAK, FLA -Suwannee Spirit Kids Music Camp is held four times each year to help teach kids how to play instruments such as hand drums, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, vocals and more! The three-day camp is free. The only catch? Parent or guardian must be on the grounds while the kids are in class. Registration is Friday night with classes continuing all day Saturday. A cookout Saturday evening is one of the kids’ favorite events! Sunday afternoon the students present a concert that will just knock your socks off. Students leave with a sense of accomplishment and many have developed a love for playing music instruments or singing, just what they need to continue a life-long love of music. Kids 5-17 may participate.

Friday evening Mike Mullis will bring his variety show in the Music Hall. Mike, famous for his music, songwriting and performances, will keep the evening lively and filled with music and fun. He might even whip out a hoola hoop or two and ask for performers!

Saturday evening the fantastic Southern Rukus Band will have the house rocking as they bring Southern Rock, country and lots more for your dancing and listening enjoyment. This band is one of the favorites at the Music Hall and is definitely a crowd-pleasing group.

As always, the SOS Café and Restaurant will have available delicious culinary treats from the menu along with nightly specials such as prime rib, catfish, ribs and more at regular prices. The Music Hall opens at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, music begins at 8 p.m. Admission Friday and Saturday night is $5 per person with the $5 applied to your evening meal/beverage tab. You can’t beat that deal with a stick! Breakfast is available Saturday and Sunday beginning at 7:30 a.m.

While you’re at the SOSMP, enjoy canoeing, hiking, golf cart rental, mini and disc golf, check out our live honey bee display, visit the rustic Crafts Village, The Store of the Village or you may also stop by the SOSMP’s brand new radio studio located in the Crafts Village where DJ Don Miller broadcasts his bluegrass program live from 5 – 7 p.m. every Sunday evening.

The SOSMP is located at 3076 95th Drive 4.5 miles north of Live Oak, Fl off US 129 at the famous Suwannee River. The park is 4.5 miles south of Interstate 75 and 4.5 miles north of Interstate 10 off US 129.
