The Hobbit has been a clever beast to tame and it continues to be as Peter Jackson attempts to bridge the gap between his upcoming film and the LOTR trilogy. Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen have all been brought back for this “bridge” film, but we still don’t know if we’ll see Orlando Bloom’s dagger-wielding, bow-slinging elf, Legolas.

Sources at Showbiz 411 have it that Bloom’s people are negotiating to get the star back for a small appearance in the first film and a major role in the bridge. There’s no signatures on paper yet and there’s still no tell of what Viggo Mortensen or the others may be up to, but expect this to go through.
