Throngs of fans of the popular AMC television show “The Walking Dead” descended on the Oregon Convention Center this weekend to see their favorite stars from the show.  Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon), Jon Bernthal (Shane Walsh) and Laurie Holden (Andrea) were all on hand during the 3-day event to greet fans, sign autographs and pose for photos.

Fan favorite Norman Reedus was on hand for the second year in a row to the delight of the hundreds of fans who attend the con sporting Daryl inspired shirts with phrases like “If Daryl Dies, We Riot”, and “Mrs. Daryl Dixon”.  Several fans were even dressed up as Reedus’ onscreen character for the Wizard World costume contest.  Reedus was such a popular draw last year that he missed all but the last 10 minutes of the panel he was scheduled to be on due to the sheer number of photo ops that were sold.

This year was no exception.  Fans waited in lines for hours to get a chance to speak to the actor and get a favorite item autographed or have a professional photo taken of them with their idol.  Reedus was very generous and caring and took time to speak to each fan and make them feel welcome at the event.

Michael Rooker’s character Merle Dixon was killed off the show last season, but he has remained one of the most loved and hated characters in its history.  The actor held a packed panel to answer questions about his time on “The Walking Dead”, his great friendship with on-screen brother Norman Reedus, and his upcoming projects, including the much-anticipated “Guardians of the Galaxy”.

Fellow cast members Laurie Holden and Jon Bernthal, whose characters were both killed off on “The Walking Dead” series, shared stories about their experiences filming the show and what lies ahead for both of these very busy actors.

Fans of “The Walking Dead” made great memories with their favorite stars during the 2014 Wizard World Portland Comic Con.  Many of the stars will also be appearing at upcoming Wizard World cons throughout the U.S.  Check out their website at www.wizardworld.com.
