Sunday night’s Season 5 premiere of the hit AMC show “The Walking Dead” delivered the highest ratings in the show’s history.  A record 17.3 Million viewers tuned in to see Rick and the gang try to battle their way out of Terminus.

The hour-long show started fast and never stopped – delivering non-stop action and a touching reunion which had fans raving.  “Can we all just worship at the feet of Carol now?” one fan remarked.  Even series regular Lauren Cohan (Maggie) called the premiere episode “Our best episode to date”.

AMC President Charlie Collier issued a statement that said “It’s a dead man’s party. Who could ask for more? The Walking Dead is one of those rare shows today that can command a live audience not significantly cannibalized by time-shifted viewing.  Who would have thought that cannibalized television could be curtailed by cannibal-ized television”.
