WHO: Whimsical performer Christina Linhardt, known for her musical albums Circus Sanctuary released in 2002, and more recently Voodoo Princess, will showcase her unconventional dancing and acting talents in L.A.’s most unique cabarets and workshop productions this summer.
WHAT: Recognized as the “Diva of Secret Societies,” Christina takes center stage in ‘Representing the City of Berlin’ for the Los Angeles Sister City Festival (http://lasistercityfestival.com) at The Grove on June 7. Sister City Program was created by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956 to help bridge the gap of the U.S. culture with other countries around the world. The L.A. chapter began in 1959 with Nagoya and Japan, however this year’s free festival features more than twenty-one cities in six different continents. The German-inspired cabaret will feature Christina along with renowned dancers Janet Huey and Jiffy Reed. Her artistic journey continues June 17-18 with ‘Spice of Life’, an imaginative play focusing on helping Veterans who served in combat to overcome PTSD, chemical dependencies, and other related illnesses. Christina will make an appearance in the original play written and starring veterans from the New Directions program at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, also supported by the UCLA Neuro Psychiatric Hospital. Finally, the thought provoking opera ‘M16’ stars Christina Linhardt as Miss Righteous who gives birth to an M16 assault rifle, will premier on June 24 and continue on June 28, June 29 and July 1. ‘M16’ is written by Robert Shaw and directed by Flint Esquerra.
