Producer Bryan Singer and Writer/Director Michael Dougherty bring us TRICK R’ TREAT,  a dark, comic look at the scariest day of the year – Halloween.  The film is in the vein of the hugely popular CREEPSHOW and TALES FROM THE CRYPT and consists of four interwoven tales set during Halloween night.  The segments star Brian Cox, Anna Paquin and Lauren Lee Smith, among others.  Michael Dougherty, Brian Cox and Lauren Lee Smith hit the 2009 Comic Con to talk about the film, which comes out on DVD in October.

Writer/Director Michael Dougherty did a short film while at NYU which was the basis of Sam, the creepy trick r treater in TRICK R TREAT.  “I grew up loving Halloween.  My birthday is October 28th and all of my birthday parties turned into a Halloween theme. The film is set in a fictional town in Ohio, where I grew up.” says Dougherty.  The film really reflects his experiences during his many Halloween celebrations. “The clothing and masks used in the film are very non-specific as to time period.  Only once cell phone exists in the whole film.  We wanted to do all that we could not to date the film.  We tried to use costumes that reflect the things that I found creepy growing up.”
Brian Cox

Brian Cox

Veteran actor Brian Cox (THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, TROY) thinks that TRICK R TREAT is a change from all of the recent “horror-porn” films.  “It is nice to have a film really firmly placed in it’s traditions.  A lot of films end up “dogs dinner” – without a fixed point or a fixed vision.  TRICK R TREAT is an unusual film because it doesn’t deal with chainsaws or hockey masks.  It has demonic/pagan aspects.  It’s fantasy.”  Cox thinks that the audience will be there to support the film.  “The audience knows how to handle this film. The powers that be don’t but the audience does.”
Actress Lauren Lee Smith (“CSI”, PATHOLOGY) plays the older sister to Anna Paquin’s character Laurie.  Her segment consists of 4 friends who travel to a small town for Halloween night.  They are looking for a guy for her sister.  They rent costumes and hit a party and then all Hell breaks loose.  Smith was “pleasantly surprised”  when she read the script.  “The women are not victims running around screaming.  We are the bad ones.  It’s fun!  It’s much better to be bad.”

Lauren Lee Smith and Brian Cox

Lauren Lee Smith and Brian Cox

Smith also had a great time with costar Anna Paquin.  “Anna is awesome.  She is great.  It is always awkward when you don’t know each other beforehand.  We all got along really well.  It helped that we were all in the storybook costumes and corsets and shooting in Vancouver and it was cold.  We spent hours getting the prosthetic makeup and we bonded.”
Michael Dougherty thinks that TRICK R TREAT will find it’s audience despite inherent problems.  “It’s a weird movie.  Warner Bros. is mostly a franchise studio.  A twelve million dollar film is not really high on their priority list.  Studio films are a “fear-based” way of making movies.  They need to make money.  I feel like this film really snuck it’s way into a studio.  It’s not a formulaic horror film.  It’s not an easy sell.  It’s 4 short stories with no common villain.  It’s a mish mash of tones.  It jumps between stories and keeps the audience guessing.  You never really know who the bad guy is.  It’s fun and different because you are never quite sure who will be alive at the end of the night.”
You can feel the horror of TRICK R TREAT when it premieres on DVD this October.

Whitney Houston’s new album “I Look To You” is due to hit the stores August 31, 2009.  The title track can be downloaded on Links are available for US and international fans.

I Look To You available in stores August 31, 2009

I Look To You available in stores August 31, 2009

The last time I saw Whitney Houston my heart was broken.  I actually thought she was a man in drag. She was too thin and looked unhealthy.

If you go to you will see a YouTube clip of a beautiful, rested healthy Whitney Houtson. “I Look To You” debuted to a roomful of enthusiastic celebrities that welcomed Houston back with her new album.

The familiar voice is more mature and doesn’t  hit the soaring heights it once did.  None the less if you are a Houston fan you won’t be disappointed. Her voice is still rich and beautiful.  “I Look To You” written by R.Kelly is a perfect way for Houston to give us insight into how she has struggled to made her way back to her fans.

At the risk of making you groan I must end this by saying that with “I Look To You” Whitney Houston has unbroken my heart. The beautiful, vibrant woman we fell in love with is back and with all of us behind her here to stay.

The cast and creators of FOX’S hit show “FRINGE” stopped by the 2009 Comic Con to talk about Season 2 and answer questions from fans.  This year saw more than double the number of attendees as last year – a fact which amazed the panel.  John Noble (Walter), Josh Jackson (Peter), Anna Torv (Olivia), Jasika Nicole (Astrid), Creators Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and Writer Jeff Pinker were all in attendance at this packed event.

Jasika Nicole and John Noble

Much of the discussion focused on Season 2 and the direction in which the characters are headed.  Roberto Orci summed up the changes, “Everyone is taking control and focus of their lives in a way that they didn’t before.  They are now responsible for their own actions. A war is coming…..which side will you take?”

Josh Jackson

Josh Jackson

Star Josh Jackson who plays Peter Bishop mused on his characters evolution this season: “This season the character decides that he really does want to be here.  He really does love his father even if he doesn’t want to admit it.
He has a sense of purpose for the first time in his life.  He is becoming a man through this process.”
John Noble

John Noble

Walter Bishop, played by Australian actor John Noble, is a quirky and often funny character who has some deep secrets.  Fans wanted to know how difficult it was to play the delicate balance between mental illness and genius.  “I try to play every moment truthfully.  Walter doesn’t know he is being funny.  I don’t think Walter is that weird.  I don’t know what that says about me. (Laughs)”
Some of the questions that everyone wants answered concern the alternate reality that we have only gotten small glimpses of during the season.  One fan asked if the characters were going to meet their alternate reality selves onscreen.  Actress Anna Torv (Olivia)  says “I pray” and crosses her fingers.  John Noble gives the thumbs up, implying that we might see this happen.

Leonard Nimoy has long been a Sci-Fi legend and fans are overjoyed to see him playing William Bell on “FRINGE”.  Creator Roberto Orci was asked if Nimoy might be returning for more episodes of the show. “He will be on the show as often as he likes.”  Thunderous applause erupted in the 4,500 seat hall as fans showed their appreciation.
Much has been made of the decision to place William Bell’s alternate reality office inside the Twin Towers building in New York. The creators wanted to immediately create an alternate reality and knew that the image of the Twin Towers still standing would accomplish this in short order.  They really thought that they couldn’t do it, that it was too fresh in people’s minds. ” It’s such an iconic event, such a tragic event.  Everyone remembers it.”  says Orci. “Seeing the towers immediately makes you know that you are in an alternate reality.  In the end, it’s impactful and very respectful.”

ABC brought it’s anticipated fall show “FLASH FORWARD” to the 2009 Comic Con to spread the word about this unique project. Creator David S. Goyer (BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT (writer))  brought cast members Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Courtney B. Vance and a special surprise guest to give the audience a little taste of what is to come.

John Cho

The show starts with introducing the characters in their daily lives.  Suddenly, everyone in the world has a blackout at the same time.  During the blackout, people see a glimpse of their futures in six months time.  The “flash” gives people clues to what will happen in their future.  The show goes on trying to make sense of peoples visions and find out if they are actually connected in a global way.  Goyer assures us that they are working to the season finale date in April, and they will reveal the cause of the blackout in the season finale.  Cast member Courtney B. Vance jokes that he hopes the show will go on for ” 21 seasons”.  Film actor Joseph Fiennes has never starred in a television project before, but says that he was just blown away by the script and knew he had to be part of the project.

At the end of the panel, David S. Goyer brought out his “surprise” guest Dominic Monaghan (“Lost”) who plays baddie Simon on the show.  Monaghan, who has always been a fan favorite and a huge draw couldn’t say much about his character.  He didn’t want to give away too much of the plot and simply said “I play a character called Simon.”

British actor Jack Davenport (“SWINGTOWN”, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) also stars in the show, which premieres on Thursday, September 24th at 8pm on ABC.

An highly anticipated panel during the 2009 Comic Con was the second panel for the HBO show “TRUE BLOOD”.  Fans lined up the night before and waited all day for the start of the evening panel.  The excitement was evident as fans jockeyed for good positions in the 4,500 seat venue.

Sam Trammell

Many cast members and the creators came out to talk about season 2 of this hit show and the possibility of Season 3.  In attendance were:  Alan Ball (creator), Charlaine Harris (writer of the original books), Stephen Moyer (Bill), Anna Paquin (Sookie), Rutina Wesley (Tara), Michelle Forbes (Marianne), Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette), Sam Trammell (Sam), Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica) and Alexander Skarsgard (Eric).

Nelsan Ellis

Stagehands brought out bottles of “Tru-Blood” and set them on the panel table prior to the event. “Tru-Blood” is the synthetic blood substitute that the vampires drink in the show and in the books.  Series creator Alan Ball announced that a real “Tru-Blood” drink will be released this fall to coincide with the end of the second season. The drink will be a blood orange flavored soda and will come in the same bottles that are used as props on the show!

Deborah Ann Woll

A short teaser reel of upcoming footage from the rest of the second season was shown and then the panelists were announced.  The room erupted in applause and screams as fans who had been waiting for so long, finally got a glimpse of their idols.
The moderator asked creator Alan Ball to speak a bit about the show and what we can expect for the rest of this season and next.  He revealed that there will be a third season and the announcement from the network would most likely come before the end of this current season.  The “TRUE BLOOD” pilot was tested by HBO before it aired and tested highest of any pilot since “THE SOPRANOS”.   When asked how he felt about the show, Ball said, “This is the most fun I have ever had working on a show.  I hope this series has a long life.  The characters in a show evolve and change over multiple seasons and I want to see these characters evolve.”

Alan Ball and Michelle Forbes

The floor was then opened up for fan questions and there were many.

Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) was asked by one fan what he liked about his character and in what direction the character was headed.  “His hustle is supreme.  But he is starting to figure out that his hustle is not going to work to get him out of every situation.  He is re-thinking how he has been living his life and if he is still going to still try to use that hustle.”
Anna Paquin (Sookie) celebrated her birthday by attending the Comic Con panel.  She had this to say about her character:
” I like that Sookie always says what she means.  I like that she is always willing to jump in and help, even to her detriment. I dislike that she is a bleached blonde because I could spend less time going to the salon getting my roots dyed!”

Alexander Skarsgard

Alexander Skarsgard

Fan favorite Alexander Skarsgard who plays Vampire Eric was asked about how the character has changed from the first to second season.  “Eric wasn’t in a lot of the first season.  He just showed up in a few scenes to show up and boss Bill around.  I had to defend Eric to people who kept asking me why he was such a bad guy.  He’s not a bad guy.  He’s a bad ass of course.  But he is very loyal and very devoted to the people he cares about.”

Alexander Skarsgard

Alexander Skarsgard

One of the most intriguing facets being explored in the current season is Eric’s relationship to Lafayette and his devotion to Godrick, the vampire that made him.  A fan asked about this relationship and how it was meant to be taken.  “Eric and Lafayette and Godrick are all gay lovers and spend summers in Fire Island”  jokes Alan Ball, which earned a huge laugh from the crowd.  “I’m kidding.  Lafayette is scared to death of Eric – with good reason.  Eric is intrigued by Lafayette and may have plans for him in the future.”  The relationship between Eric and Godrick is one of a deep love.  “Godrick is the most important person in Eric’s life.  He has known him ever since he was born as a vampire.  He really is to Eric what we say in the show -father, brother, son.  Eric loves him.  I don’t think it is a romantic love but it is very deep.”  This depth of affection will continue to come through in the rest of this season as Eric, Bill and Sookie are in Dallas trying to locate Godrick and his kidnappers.
Skarsgard likes this new dimension to his character. “Eric has always been an entrepreneur, a businessman.  He has always operated without emotion.  Now, he is going to Dallas (to help find Godrick) strictly for love.”

Alexander Skarsgard and Deborah Ann Woll

Alexander Skarsgard and Deborah Ann Woll

How much do the Sookie Stackhouse novels, written by Charlaine Harris come into play in the series and how much input does Harris have over the show.  She puts it succinctly when she says “I don’t tell Alan how to do his show and he doesn’t tell me how to write my books.”  Miss Harris is certainly one to tell it like it is!  The books are a great source material for the actors but “at some point you have to leave the book behind and make the character your own” says Alexander Skarsgard. “It’s nice to have 8 or 9 books to have around as background for the character”.  Charlaine Harris announced that she has just signed a contract to continue to write the series for several more books, so fans will continue to have Sookie and crew in print as well as on television.

Charlaine Harris and Nelsan Ellis

Charlaine Harris and Nelsan Ellis

One fan wanted to know if we would see a half-vampire/half-human baby on the show….as there is in that “other” vampire series “Twilight”.  Ball says condescendingly “No.  On our show they are either vampires or not vampires.”, earning a huge round of applause from the crowd.

Alan Ball, Rutina Wesey and Stephen Moyer

Alan Ball, Rutina Wesey and Stephen Moyer

Alan Ball summed up the night when he said “We have as much fun making the show as you do watching it!”
If you haven’t yet checked out this amazing show, TRUE BLOOD airs on Sunday nights at 9pm.  The second season runs until September 10th and you can check out previous episodes on HBO on demand.

Cathy-Anne McClintock CD Review

Cathy-AnneMcClintockWriting music reviews can be little over whelming and can make you feel like you are slogging through mud. There is always a pile of CD containing envelopes on my desk.

In those envelopes you will find garnets, sapphires, rubies, emeralds and pearls. If you are like me there are a few you will say you don’t have time to review. Those are the reviews you can’t bring yourself to write. An honest review would be, “someone should have loved you enough to say don’t record that”.

Then it happens you open the envelope pop in the CD and you hear an exquisite voice.  You realize you have fished a perfect diamond out of that envelope pile. In this case it is the voice of Cathy-Anne McClintock.

2008_0323comiccon20090054WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase, Jr. stopped by the 2009 Comic Con in San Diego to promote his upcoming DVD release of “The Marine 2”.  CFM News caught up with
Ted and he filled us in on the details.

CFMNews: Is this the first time you have been to Comic Con?
Ted DiBiase:  The first time, yes, and it is…absolutely insane.

CFM: So going from doing live shows every week (on WWE Monday Night Raw, Mondays 9-11pm USA Network) to working on a film, what was different about that?
TD:  You know wrestling and acting, the film industry….they have their similarities.  In wrestling there is a lot more physicality.  Well there was a
lot of physicality in this film.  I did all my own stunts but when we are wrestling, it is more over the top.  When you are playing to a live crowd, you are a little
bit exaggerated.  You know….a little bit more.  And there are all of those millions of people who are watching on TV at home.  And the camera, it catches your facial
expressions.  And that is something that you have to let those people at home feel –  that emotion your face, whereas people in the crowd who are at the top of the arena, they have to feel it through your movements.  Film is more here (frames face).  Less is more.  And that is something that I learned as the process of the movie
went through and I really enjoyed it. The learning experience was just incredible.  I think it helped me a lot with my wrestling, you know?  Cause you understand the
importance of exemplifying that emotion.  This was my first film.  I hope there is more, because it was so much fun.

CFM: Are films something you always thought that maybe you wanted to do?
TD:  It was something that was always in the back of my head.  My mom always thought I would be an actor.  I was always pretending that I was hurt and she
would get worried you know?  And I was like, no I was just kidding.  And she would slap me and it would be bad.  (laughs)  Yea it was always in the back
of my head and when the opportunity came, it was just really a surprise to me because I had only been wrestling like 6 or 7 months and they came to me
with the script and I read it.  They said “wow how long have you been acting” and I looked at my wrist and said “about 10 minutes!”  They said they would get back
to me and they called me a week later and said you got the part.  And I was like, I got a part in a movie?!?  What part is it?  I was thinking it was
something small.  And they said…no you are the lead role.  And then it hit me and I was just….oh my gosh.  It was on from there.  It was just
a lot of learning and it was quite a trip and it was so much fun.

CFM:  Did you talk to John Cena (star of THE MARINE) to get any advice?
TD: Yea, I talked to Cena and he is incredible.  He is in THE MARINE 1 and he just finished 12 ROUNDS which just came out on DVD and is doing extremely well.  His
advice was…be yourself.  Just be yourself and listen.  It was all I could do.  It was my first time in any kind of acting role, apart from wrestling.  It was different.
This is new to him too.  He’s done two movies now but it’s still pretty fresh. He said be yourself, have fun with it, listen to what they have to say.  It was a
rollercoaster ride but it turned out to be an incredible film.

CFM:  How did you get along with the rest of the cast?
TD: Michael Rooker who plays Church…I mean Michael Rooker was in DAYS OF THUNDER and TOMBSTONE.  He was awesome.  Oh my gosh he was so much fun.  And Lara Cox who plays my wife….we just had great chemistry together.  Our director, Roel Reine, he made us do these exercises together. We want to malls and stuff holding hands and acting like a couple.
I had never done anything like that because I had never been to acting school or in Theatre or anything like that so it was interesting.  We hit it off right off
the bat.  They really helped me out a lot. I was surrounded by good people, great actors….veterans of the business so that really helped as well.  It inspired me
to do as good of a job as I could do to represent them and the WWE.  It was good all around.

CFM:  When does the film come out?
TD:  December 29th on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Check out THE MARINE 2 in December and watch Monday Night Raw on Mondays from 9-11pm on USA Networks.

“Konami is excited to partner with Cartoon Network Enterprises on Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse,” said Careen Yapp, Vice President of Licensing and Business Development for Konami. “Our position as industry leader in creating unique gaming experiences through licensed material coupled with Adult Swim’s pedigree as leader in creating ground-breaking programming is what is going to make Metalocalypse such a great project for us to publish.”

“Since its debut on Adult Swim, Metalocalypse has built a solid fan base and become synonymous with two things – animated destruction and metal,” said Christina Miller, vice president, Cartoon Network Enterprises, the licensing and merchandising arm of Adult Swim.  “Working closely with Konami and the show’s creators, we have found a way to incorporate both of those qualities into our first video game for the brand and provide a truly authentic gaming experience.”

“We have gone above and beyond and found the biggest nerds in the industry to help develop and deliver what will without a doubt be the most successful downloadable cartoon death metal game in recorded history,” said Small.  “I defy anyone to find another death metal cartoon that can claim the same. But I think the most important thing to remember beyond the record setting CD sales and astounding ratings and growing rabid fans around the world is that this game is going to be a blast to play. I am very excited to be a part of making video games metal.”

In Metalocalypse: Dethgame, players will be immersed in the world of Dethklok. As a Klokateer, one of the band’s loyal roadies, players will be unleashed on a heinous rampage against rabid mutant fans in brutal combat.  Fight mutants, explore the rooms and dungeons of Mordhaus and protect the METAL faithful. All of this action set to the music of Dethklok, including tracks from the best-selling Dethklok: The Dethalbum. Additionally, the game will feature three all-new songs from Williams Street Records’ Dethklok 2 which will be available later this fall. Complete with mini-games, Metalocalypse provides an optimal gaming experience rarely seen in a downloadable game.

Developed by Frozen Codebase, Metalocalypse is slated for release in Q4 2009. For more information on Metalocalypse, please visit:

Series To Return With 13 New Episodes Beginning Spring 2010’s Original  Series “Deadliest Warrior – The Aftermath”

Also Set To Return After Record Traffic

Los Angeles, CA, July 21, 2009 – History’s most lethal combatants will continue the fight to the death as Spike TV  renews “Deadliest Warrior” for a second season, it was announced today by Sharon Levy, senior vice president, original programming, Spike TV.  The successful first season averaged 1.8 million viewers, had more than 6.2 million show-related video views on and is Spike TV’s best-selling series this year across all download-to-own (DTO) platforms.  The second season of “Deadliest Warrior” will premiere 13 episodes in Spring 2010 with’s original round table discussion series, “Deadliest Warrior – The Aftermath,” also set to return in conjunction with the new episodes.

“We are thrilled with the success ‘Deadliest Warrior’ has achieved both on air and online for Spike,” said Levy.  “The decision to pick it up is a no-brainer.  Since hitting the air, fans have endlessly debated and shared online, even offering some great ideas for future match-ups.”

Airing at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays, the first season of “Deadliest Warrior” (April 7 – May 31) averaged a robust 1.8 million viewers, ranking second among men 18-49 and men 18-34, behind only the NBA Playoffs on TNT.  The premiere season concluded as the highest-rated first season of any original program on Spike since 2005.  With the multi-platform success of the series, Spike TV is currently pursuing a book deal, video game and various other merchandising opportunities based on the series.

Also a hit on, the “Deadliest Warrior” show pages attracted a season average of over 207,000 weekly unique visitors.  Show-related videos generated over 6.2 million video views during the course of the season.  “Deadliest Warrior – The Aftermath” was hugely successful and maintained the online interest between episodes, generating 1.8 million video views (April 7 – June 21).  “Deadliest Warrior” also performed exceptionally well on DTO platforms, driving sales to record highs on iTunes, Xbox, PlayStation and Zune.   It was Spike TV’s number one selling series across all DTO platforms in May and is Spike TV’s best-selling series this year.

Deadliest Warrior” pits history’s greatest warriors against one another to determine, once and for all, who reigns supreme.  To collect data on these legends of combat, the series features a fight club that consists of series regulars Geoff Desmoulin, a biomedical engineer and karate black belt who uses high-tech sensors to collect the data, and computer whiz Max Geiger, who tracks all the test findings to ultimately run in a battle simulation program.  Along with the use of 21st century science and the latest in CGI technology, the series enlists warrior-specific, world-class fighters and experts to provide insight into what makes these combatants tick, analyzing every facet of their unique skills of destruction, culminating in a head-to-head final fight between two legends of the battlefield that will produce the deadliest warrior.  The premiere season featured such iconic warriors in Spartans and Samurai, prominent individuals like William Wallace and Shaka Zulu, zealous terrorists in the Taliban and even the notoriously bloody Yakuza, among others.

Deadliest Warrior” featured content on will also be expanded next season.  Outside of the return of the weekly roundtable series “Deadliest Warrior – The Aftermath,” initial plans for the show page content includes “Blood in the Sand” weekly blog articles, sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes looks and interviews with series regulars and experts.  Users will also be able to view full episodes of that week’s episode online after it has premiered on-air.  Further plans will be announced at a later date.

Deadliest Warrior” is produced for Spike TV by Morningstar Entertainment (“Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force”).  The series is executive produced by Gary Tarpanian and Paninee Theeranuntawat.  Sharon Levy and Tim Duffy are Spike TV’s executives in charge of production.

Zombie_Girl_Emily_1Meet the youngest zombie filmmaker on the block…12 year old Emily Hagins
(Screening At Comic-Con)
Directed & Produced by Justin Johnson, Aaron Marshall, Erik Mauck
Cast: Emily Hagins, Megan Hagins, Jerry Hagins, Rebecca Elliot, Harry Knowles, Tim League
Running Time: 91 mins
ZOMBIE GIRL: THE MOVIE chronicles the passion, creative drive, and supportive family of an extraordinary pre-teen girl following her filmmaking dreams:  Emily Hagins is making a zombie movie.  It’s feature-length, it’s bloody, and the zombies don’t run.  But there’s one big difference between her film and every other zombie movie you’ve ever seen: Emily is twelve years old.
Most twelve-year-olds are busy with friends, homework, and online chatting.  But film-obsessed Emily Hagins spends her time writing and directing a feature-length zombie movie.  ZOMBIE GIRL: THE MOVIE documents the exhilarating and heartbreaking two years it took her to shoot, edit, and premiere the film to a sold out audience in Austin, Texas.
Encouraged by famous friends and fans – including Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings), who she corresponds with in third grade, and journalist Harry Knowles of Ain’t It Cool News fame, ZOMBIE GIRL: THE MOVIE traces Emily’s remarkable vision and youthful will to succeed.  And with the help of her mother as agent, crew, and biggest fan, Emily launches an epic adventure in genre filmmaking, battling everything from budget shortfalls to self-doubt, all while coming of age as a young girl.  Emily has the vision and her mom has the driver’s license.  Together, their journey is a funny, enlightening look at a growing world of young moviemakers, and the bloodiest mother/daughter story you’ve ever seen.
Emily has been written about in diverse national and local press, including Teen Vogue, The L.A. Times, Fangoria, Ain’t It Cool News, and Film Threat.
Emily’s feature length film debut, Pathogen, launched her into the record books as the first teenage girl in the United States to complete a feature length film.  She is also the youngest winner ever of The Texas Filmmakers Production Fund Grant.
Young Emily, now 16, has just finished her second feature film, The Retelling.
First time feature filmmakers Justin Johnson, Aaron Marshall, Erik Mauck have collectively created accomplished short films, worked in television, commercials, and music videos. While living in Austin in 2005, they saw a local web posting: “Need 12-15 year olds for zombie movie directed by twelve-year-old girl,” and were immediately hooked, beginning a dizzy three and a half year journey documenting Emily’s filmmaking journey.
They are now independently pursuing various film projects, ranging from writing scripts in development to producing television shows, narrative feature films and documentaries.  Aaron Marshall currently resides in Los Angeles, Justin Johnson lives in St. Louis, Missouri, and Erik Mauck is based in Austin, Texas.
