2010 HOLLYWOOD MUSIC AND MEDIA AWARD NOMINEE SUSAN CALLOWAY RETURNS HOME TO DETROIT TO OPEN FOR INDIE ROCKER WAKEY! WAKEY! AT ILOUNGE ON JUNE 19 THEN SHOWCASES AT AJ’S MUSIC CAFÉ ON JULY 10

The Hollywood Music and Media Awards (HMMA) announced their initial round of nominees for the 2010 award show.  Amongst HMMA’s first nominees is singer Susan Calloway, nominated in the Adult Contemporary category for her track “Don’t Fall In Love” from her latest EP, Chasin The Sun. The HMMA’s will take place on Thursday, November 18 at The Highlands in Hollywood.

Calloway just returned to her home turf of Detroit after touring and performing in New York City last week at Manhattan’s hotspot the Living Room. Plus Calloway made a TV appearance on FOX NEW Strategy Room’ s Variety Hour, where she gave an acoustic performance of the HMMA nominated song “Don’t Fall In Love.”

Next up the songstress will perform at Clutch Cargo’s iLounge in Pontiac, Mich., on Saturday, June 19, opening for popular indie singer Wakey! Wakey!. Last month she performed in-front of a packed house at AJ’s Music Cafe in Ferndale, Mich., therefore, the venue has demanded her back for repeat performance on Thursday, July 10.

The Calloway then jet sets to San Francisco on July 15 and 16 to perform at Davies Symphony Hall for the concert series Distant Worlds, music from the popular and new video game Final Fantasy. Susan was invited on the tour, though most of the music is instrumental, as she is the featured soloist on the video game’s new compilation album Distant Worlds II: More Music from Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy’s original scored music was created by the talented Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu, which will be conducted by Grammy award-winner Arnie Roth and performed by the San Francisco Symphony.

LOS ANGELES BASED LATIN-AMERICAN SINGER-SONGWRITER KEITH CHAGALL EXTENDS AN ‘INVITATION’ TO JOIN HIM AS HE KICK STARTS THE SUMMER WITH A FREE OUTDOOR SHOW AT THE WESTFIELD CENTURY CITY MALL IN L.A. ON SUNDAY, JUNE 13 AT 3 P.M.

Emerging singer-songwriter Keith Chagall gets the summer started early in L.A. with a free outdoor performance of his soothing tropical Latin melodies from his new CD Invitation at the Westfield Century City Mall (10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA) on Sunday, June 13 at 3 p.m.

Angelenos and visitors alike can also catch the multi-talented performer on Thursdays evenings at the lavish Peninsula Hotel’s Roof Garden (9882 South Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA) as Keith serenades pool-side diners with his tropic-inspired rhythms. His acoustic set begins at 7 p.m.

Invitation—whose richly textured songs blend a modern day Antonio Carlos Jobim sensibility with accessible “McCartneyesque” melodies—was featured in the Robb Report’s 21st Annual Best of the Best issue 2009

Co-produced by Mikal Blue, who produced Colbie Caillat’s debut multi-platinum album Coco and has helmed projects for Five For Fighting, Augustana and OneRepublic, Invitation spotlights a unique songwriting collaboration between Chagall and Oscar and Tony Award-winning composer Al Kasha and features a wide range of top session and touring musicians: bassist Abe Laboriel (Michael Jackson, George Benson, Miles Davis), drummer Abe Laboriel, Jr. (Paul McCartney), trumpeter Lee Thornburg (Tower of Power, Rob Thomas) and percussionist Rafael Padilla (Enrique Iglesias, Celine Dion).
