Elementary is supposed to be a modern day Sherlock Holmes. Other than the name the show has nothing in common with the detective created by author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Lesser Evils a repeat episode aired on 3/30/2013

Doyle was an excellent writer. The writers of “Elementary” are not. They are using the same technique as “House” and a few other shows. Rather than write a good storyline they make the character a hateful bully as way to move the story along.  Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) is a recovering addict which is supposed to make his behavior OK.

There is no skill or intelligence level that makes it OK to treat people the way he does.

Lesser Evils convoluted storyline had no surprises.

Jonny Lee Miller’s acting is so over the top this week it ridiculous.  He is nearly hyperventilating trying to impress us with his less than stellar lines he is given. Terrible, terrible acting.  I expect him to start foaming at the mouth and literally start chewing on some of the scenery.

Dr. Watson’s story line should have provided some depth to her character but it didn’t it. It superficial and predictably to the point of being tiresome. I watch it as a fan of Lucy Liu but her character Dr. Watson seems to have a lobotomy at times. Watson is a well-educated woman who for some reason I can’t fathom is staying with a man who has no respect for her.

Why it was renewed is beyond me.

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of all-stars as the global blockbuster franchise built on speed races to its next continent in Fast & Furious 6. Reuniting for their most high-stakes adventure yet, fan favorites Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Elsa Pataky are joined by badass series newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Building on the worldwide blockbuster success of Fast Five and taking the action, stunts and narrative to even greater heights, Fast & Furious 6 sees director Justin Lin back behind the camera for the fourth time. He is supported by longtime producers Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel, who welcome producer Clayton Townsend back to the series.

LONDON, Saturday 23rd March – As the UK prepared to go ’into darkness’ for WWF’s Earth Hour, Paramount Pictures announced its support with a special ‘Star Trek’ themed light display which dimmed as Earth Hour approached.

This amazing light show by Paramount, in conjunction with Ars Electonica Futurelab & Ascending Technologies, saw quadrocopters fly into the night sky, forming the Star Trek federation logo beside Tower Bridge on a scale never seen before.  In keeping with Earth Hour’s initiative, the quadrocopters utilized batteries that were charged in Austria using green energy from the Austrian renewable energy grid specifically for this event.

The event will coincided with WWF’s Earth Hour at 8:30 pm. Along with key landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and The London Eye going dark, the quadrocopters  turned off their glow in support of Earth Hour.

To signal the end of Earth Hour at 9:30 pm the quadrocopters  reformed the Star Trek logo above London’s skyline.

The logo formation hovered about 36m (118ft) above the ground at the lowest point and the highest point (the tip of the logo)  at approximately 130m (426ft) above ground. The total height of the logo was approximately 94meters (308ft).

John Fletcher, Director of Marketing for Paramount Pictures UK said “We are very pleased to go ‘into darkness’ with the rest of the world in support of Earth Hour. It seems fitting to be associated with such a global cause.”

Kellie Rollings from WWF said “WWF is delighted that Paramount supported this year’s Earth Hour event. Millions of people around the world take part in Earth Hour year on year and we’re always looking for innovative ways to get our message out there. It’s fantastic that Paramount has chosen to mark the hour by dimming their lights at this unusual light display.”

“STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS” is written by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman & Damon Lindelof and directed by J.J. Abrams.  Abrams is producing with Bryan Burk through Bad Robot Productions, along with Lindelof, Kurtzman and Orci.  Jeffrey Chernov and Skydance Productions’ David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake are the executive producers.

“STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS” opens in cinemas across the UK & Ireland on Thursday 9th May.

The Friars Club today announced that the Fifth Annual Friars Club Comedy Film Festival (FCCFF), to be held the week of April 1-6, 2013, will open with “He’s Way More Famous Than You”. The festival is a star-studded celebration of the comedy genre that fosters the next generation of comedy filmmakers and offers them a platform for presenting their work, and to fill a void by paying tribute to a genre that is often overlooked.

The opening night film, in which Ugly Betty and Partners star Michael Urie makes his directorial debut, is an irreverent meta-comedy that includes actors ranging from indie fixtures, like Halley Feiffer and Ryan Spahn, to cameos by A-list household names like Jesse Eisenberg, Ben Stiller, Mamie Gummer and Ralph Macchio. They all play tongue-in-cheek caricatures of themselves to help tell the story of one fame-obsessed actress (Halley Feiffer) who is willing to do anything to make it in the entertainment industry, even if it means sabotaging her own happiness and wreaking havoc on the lives of those around her.

[hana-code-insert name=’LikeArticle’ /]

“We’re excited to bring back the film festival, due to popular demand,” said Charlie Prince, executive director of the Friars Club Comedy Film Festival. “For an opening film, we’re looking for something outrageously funny, with a fresh and original take on the comedy genre, and Michael Urie’s film hits all the marks.”

The Friars Club continues its commitment to comedy by nurturing new voices in entertainment through the film festival that promises six days of networking, parties, and laughter.  The festival offers filmmakers the opportunity to introduce their work to leading executives, comedians, and industry professionals. The Friars Club, known widely for its roasts and “100 years of antics,” has a roster of members including the industry’s top comedians and entertainers, from Frank Sinatra and Billy Crystal, to Whoopi Goldberg and Jerry Seinfeld.

NBC's "Grimm" returns with "Face Off"

NBC’s “Grimm” returns with “Face Off”

Grimm is finally back with “Face Off.” NBC describes the episode as  “Nick and Renard (finally go head-to-head in light of Nick’s discovery, while Juliette and Renard’s magnetic attraction reaches dangerous new heights.” The episode picks up right where it left off in “Season of the Hexenbiest.”

Grimm is one of my favorite shows. My household was excited to see it return. It is fantasy and it is fun. Or it was fun until it became “Days of Our Lives”. The series started out with Nick solving cases involving strange and wonderful creatures. The show was fresh and interesting. Nick solved crime, kept his secret from is partner and for some reason put up with his annoying girlfriend. Now the show is getting convoluted and tedious.

[hana-code-insert name=’LikeArticle’ /]

The show is loosely, very loosely based on Grimm’s Fairy Tales. We were introduced to Monroe () a Blutbad. “A Blutbad (plural: Blutbaden; pronunciation: BLOOT-baat, BLOOT-baad in Grimm; Germ. Blut “blood” + Bad “bath”) is a wolf-like Wesen that is basis of the fairy tale character of the Big Bad Wolf.” Grimm Wikki  Monroe is one of the best characters to come around in a while. Mitchell adds just the right amount of weird to make you believe.

Juliette Silverton ( is Nick Burkhardt’s human girlfriend.
Adalind Schade (Claire Coffee) is a Hexenbeist. “A Hexenbiest (HEK-sən-beest; pl: -biester Germ. Hexe “witch” + Biest “beast”) is a witch-like Wesen that resembles a demon or goblin, with visibly rotting or disfigured flesh. They are based on witches such as the one in “Snow White”. ”

But, ever since she can remember, she has had her own supernatural experiences. Growing up with a very spiritually inclined family, she has always had an open vision to spirits and energies. Being a paranormal investigator has become her spiritual quest to search for the truth behind why spirits are trapped between walls and realms that coincide with everyday life.

Learning how people are affected by these spirits and how we affect them has always been at the forefront of Susan’s curiosity. Aside from having profound love and curiosity for all things paranormal, her favorite pastimes consist of keeping up on good horror films and going to concerts and shows. She spends most of her free time enjoying nature; hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating, and traveling to new exotic places are among her favorite things to do.

“Psychic Kids” Star Vicki Franklin will be making her first appearance at the Las Vegas Paracon this year at Binion’s Gambling Hall.

Vicki’s debut as a psychic was on A&E’s Psychic Kids Season 2, Episode 1: Vanished, where she and Travis Hill investigated the case of a missing teen. Vicki was brought on again for the season 3 finale: The Lost Soul to mentor two teens struggling with their psychic abilities.
Since the airing of the shows, Vicki has been contacted by a bay area police department to assist on several cold cases and missing persons cases. She also assists in local private paranormal investigations.
