Mad River
Brew Master Bob Smith’s dream to open a small brewery specializing in craft beers started in the late seventies. In 1977 Bob became a member of the original group that founded the “Humbrewers Guild”. Excursions to buy brewing supplies led Bob to Ken Grossman’s Homebrew Shop in Chico, California. After Ken shared his plans to build a brewery in Chico to be called Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Bob became determined to found a similar brewery in Humboldt County. Bob’s contact with Ken becomes pivatol in the founding of Mad River. In the spring of 1989 Sierra Nevada, having outgrown its starting brewery and with a new larger plant under construction, offered to sell their original equipment to Smith. At this point the micro brewery business in general had proven its viability and the overall financial climate had changed so financing looked possible. Smith developed a prospectus and by fall found the investors necessary to establish the corporation known as Mad River Brewing Company.

Lagunitas
The Lagunitas Brewing Co. was not so much an act of ordinary ‘foundling’ as it was willed into being by the unspoken desire of supportive beer-lovers in Northern California after which they continued to nurture their creation and urged us forward to fulfill the unifying needs of that same beer-loving diaspora from coast to coast and beyond. It is good to have friends!

21st Amendment
In 2000, Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan founded the 21st Amendment Brewery in San Francisco’s historic South Park neighborhood. The popular brewpub is now at the heart of the new city center, just south of the financial district and only two blocks from the San Francisco Giants baseball park. In addition to eight rotating taps of multiple award-winning hand-crafted house beers, the pub has been voted “Best Brewpub”, “Best Burger” and “Best Happy Hour” by the San Francisco press.

Speakeasy
Speakeasy has been making great craft beer in San Francisco since first opening in 1997. Our flagships are Big Daddy IPA, Prohibition Ale, and the seasonal releases Scarlett Red Rye and Tallulah Extra Pale Ale. With a love for the sinister and the underground, Speakeasy operates out of a corner of this city once known as Butchertown.

Eel River
As avid home-brewers, co-owners Ted Vivatson and Margaret Frigon had a vision of excellent hand-crafted beer and great food in historic surroundings. The vision came to fruition in 1995 and the beer began to flow at the former site of the Clay Brown Redwood lumber mill in Fortuna, California.

ACE
We have been making ACE ciders for 15 years in the beautiful Sebastopol area of Sonoma County in California; right along side of famous world renowned wine makers.  Thanks to Ace Hard Cider – America’s Best – the cider business in America is growing rapidly, There really is a refreshing alternative to simply beer and it’s Ace’s!

Lost Coast
The Lost Coast Brewery and Café began with a common dream.  In 1986 Barbara Groom, a pharmacist, and Wendy Pound, a family counselor, wondered what it would require to start their own brewpub.  After years of experimental home brewing, planning and studying, which included visiting scores of pubs in England & Wales, Barbara and Wendy were ready to transform their dream into a reality.

Fall River
Fall River Brewing Company was founded during the winter of 2011 when John and Amanda Hutchings wrote out separate “bucket” lists. One of the items on both lists was the desire to own their own business. John, the founder and co-owner of the company, had been a home brewer and had developed a passion for the craft. He had found something that he genuinely enjoyed doing and would spend many nights brewing beer until the early hours of the morning. This passion continued to grow as John learned more about the craft. From this, John and Amanda decided to create Fall River Brewing Company and share the passion for craft beer to those within the Intermountain area. And More…
