Davi will perform songs from his critically-acclaimed debut album
‘Davi Sings Sinatra: On The Road To Romance’ in Las Vegas this February.
ulti-talented singer, film and TV star Robert Davi is set to heat up The Venetian Showroom for a special three-night engagement February 23, 24, 25 in Las Vegas. Davi will deliver a slate of memorable tunes made popular by the success of his critically acclaimed debut Davi Sings Sinatra: On The Road To Romance (Fontana/Universal Music Group).
Don Heckman, music critic for Los Angeles Times, International Review of Music, etc, said [of Davi’s live performance]: “Davi is something special. Start with his charismatic presence, his laid back Italian manner and above all, his musicality. By the time he’d finished his second number—’Nice ‘n’ Easy‘ – and was swinging smoothing through ‘At Long Last Love,’ it was apparent that he was clearly in touch with the content, the details and the spirit of Sinatra’s way with a song.”
Actor Dan Aykroyd (Ghostbusters, Blues Brothers) echoed Heckman’s sentiments: “His voice is suitably magnificent…Robert evokes the ease of [Sinatra] without coming off as a replicator. He makes these songs his own just like Dino and Mel did when they performed Frank’s material. He will give our audiences a rare, classy treat.”
A classically trained vocalist, Davi brings to The Venetian his own vocal panache, the spirited swing of a powerful, historic orchestra and the creative intensity of legendary Grammy winning producer Phil Ramone (Madonna, Paul McCartney, Gloria Estefan) to pave the ‘road to romance’ on his tribute to Sinatra’s musical legacy. Less than a month after its highly anticipated release, Davi Sings Sinatra, soared onto Billboard magazine’s Top 10 Traditional Jazz Charts.
“There are a lot of guys trying to do this music but Davi comes closest to what Sinatra did—but is himself, a great voice, very cool old-school stuff, don’t miss it” said actor Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler, Iron Man 2).
A prolific actor, Davi is one of the most recognizable entertainers in the world—appearing in more than 100 major motion pictures. More than 30 years into his acting career, Davi planted the seeds for his long awaited emergence as a singer by recording “So Much In Love” on the soundtrack of “The Dukes,” the well received independent film starring Davi, Chazz Palminteri and Peter Bogdanovich that marked his directorial debut.
Davi’s additional acting credits include his first cinematic role in “Contract on Cherry Street,” alongside Ol’ Blue Eyes, a James Bond film “Licence To Kill,” and “The Goonies.” Davi’s next major motion picture, “The Iceman (2013),” also stars Chris Evans, Winona Ryder, Michael Shannon, David Schwimmer, Ray Liotta and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
