Listen up all Parrot Heads or Parrot Head wannabees! If you’re into Parrot Head events or just having a good time, this June 4-5 is your time to party at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Fla!
Tropical Night Rocks the Suwannee is a production of the Gators in Paradise Parrot Head Club of Gainesville. It’s all about a good time, having “phun” and helping others at the same time.
Events include the Paradise Charity Kickball Tournament beginning Saturday morning at 10 a.m. where Parrot Head clubs are challenged to form a team of eight or more people and win $100 for their favorite charity. Other proceeds will benefit the Lake City Animal Shelter and WISHES, the end-of-life arm of Herry’s Kids that creates meaningful moments for children and their families whose remaining time together will be limited.
General admission tickets are $15 at the door. VIP tickets are $35 in advance only and include all beverages and the Saturday event from 4 – 11 p.m. in the Music Hall. Friday evening Teddy Mac (aka Teddy Mac Elvis) will host a line dancing class from 7 – 8 p.m. in the Music Hall followed by an evening of dancing and music with a DJ, all for only $5 which can be applied to your dinner and beverage tab.
Friday night there will also be a casual gathering at one of the Parrot Head camping sites followed by Saturdays morning’s kickball tourney from 10 a.m. – noon, lunch, rest and relaxation on your own in the afternoon and evening events of food, beverages, dancing and “phun” in the Music Hall. Doors to the Music Hall open Saturday, June 5, at 4 p.m. and close at 1 a.m. The All Dog Band will entertain from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. while Jimmy Parrish and the Ocean Waves will entertain from 8 – 11 p.m. As always, the SOS Café and Restaurant will be open during Music Hall events and serving delicious food specials and items from the regular menu at regular prices. SOS Café and Restaurant serves dinner until 10 p.m. and is open until 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday night.
