SPIRIT OF THE SUWANNEE MUSIC PARK, LIVE OAK, Fla – You know it’s Christmas time when more than five million lights begin to sparkle on breathtaking Christmas displays for miles, bringing joy to little ones and adults alike! Yes, Santa’s elves have been very, very busy this year, and it’s once again memory building time as Suwannee Lights ushers in the North Florida Christmas season at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Fla Nov. 27 through Dec. 24.
If you are a local resident, visitor for the winter, traveling through Suwannee County on Interstates 10 or 75 or plan to visit in North Florida between Thanksgiving and Christmas, make this the must do event that will give you and your family a lifetime of joyous memories and may even help you wrap up all your Christmas shopping! The annual Suwannee Lights extravaganza features more than two miles of lighted, handmade Christmas displays built by the SOSMP‘s Christmas elves! They’ve worked so hard again this year so guests may enjoy this winter wonderland. And, guests can view it from the comfort of their own vehicles so weather is never a factor.
Admission to this spectacular event is $8 per adult and $6 per child. Gates are open from 6 – 10 p.m. seven days a week, regardless of weather, from Nov. 27-Dec. 24. Don’t forget your camera! Bring your aunts, uncles, church friends, next door neighbors or just load up whomever you can find and enjoy this very special event together! It will be such fun!
Suwannee Lights gets bigger and better each year. Along the winding, 2-mile long magical exhibit are exquisitely designed Christmas scenes such as Nutcracker soldiers, swans, animals of all kinds, Christmas trees and fantastic Christmas scenes. At the end of the breathtaking tour, hot chocolate and cookies are available or you may want to enjoy shopping at the rustic Crafts Village where Santa just might be waiting to hear what little boys and girls desire to see underneath their Christmas trees on Christmas morning! You’ll marvel at the handmade gifts such as cigar-box guitars and banjos and other stringed instruments, hand-made retro-style aprons, purses, hand-carved animal pictures, intricately crafted treasure boxes that are the perfect Christmas gift, accessories, natural soaps, clocks, home décor, pan for gold, savor old fashion candy from the 50s and 70s, check out the handmade Adirondack style furniture where shipping is available or your nose might just lead you to the candle shop where such amazing scents as Afterglow, Cotton Candy, Sage & Citrus and many other delicious smells can go home with you in soy and paraffin blend handmade candles. If you arrive early on Sunday evenings, you can stop by the SOSMP radio studio where bluegrass DJ and personality Don Miller will be broadcasting his famous bluegrass radio show over WLVO 106.1. There’s just so much to do while you’re at the SOSMP! Then, there’s the SOS Café and Restaurant and the Music Hall where there’s live music Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
