If you aren’t familiar with Burlesque performers The SuicideGirls, you are really missing out.  In the early 2000’s the SuicideGirls Burlesque show crisscrossed North America for 5 years.  The girls entertained thousands of people at sold-out shows, opening for Gun ’n’ Roses and Courtney Love and went overseas to perform at music festivals in both Europe and Australia.  In the fall of 2013, the girls decided it was time to continue their captivating worldwide rule and spent six weeks playing sold out shows across the United States.  Shortly after, they decided to take it world-wide again!  With sold out shows in Australia, Canada and the US in 2014 they kicked off 2015 with a sold out performance in London.  These ladies are busy!

CFM News spoke with SuicideGirls founder Missy Suicide to find out what audiences could expect from this year’s bigger and better Comic Con show:

CFM: Why is this comic con performance so important for you to do? What is different about this particular show than a “normal” show?

Missy Suicide: We try out more numbers and dancers at comic con than we do on our Fall Tour so the show is a bit longer and more involved than our touring show.  It’s also a bit more unpolished and we bring some geekier themes to see how the audience reacts. The energy of the Comic Con crowd is not easily duplicated.  It is one of our favorite shows to play all year.

CFM: What can fans expect to see at the Comic Con show that they might not have seen before?

MS:  We have some new numbers we are excited to try out and see what the crowd thinks of them.  A new video Game themed Burlesque, some new movie themed numbers and a major revamp to one of our favorite tv show numbers.  I don’t want to give too much away but it will be a night full of surprises.  We are also having stand up comic April Richardson open the show for us which is a first for us.

CFM: What would you say to people who are first time attendees on your style of performing and what should they be prepared for?

MS: If you haven’t seen our show before then you are in for a treat. Our show is a unique and sexy extravaganza full of pop culture references, set to a great mix of modern and classic songs, with impressive choreography.  One of our favorite routines is a super sexy Star Wars theme set to Major Lazer “Original Don” with Boba Fett and a little Storm Trooper twerk.  It is impossible to leave without a smile.  This is definitely not your grandpa’s burlesque show.

If you are going to the 2015 Comic Con, this is one event you want to add to your schedule.  Tickets are available at http://blackheartburlesque.com/ but get your’s soon as this is an event that is sure to sell out!
