Labratory Noise While cruising the net I found the band Laboratory Noise. Intrigued by the name I looked them up on MySpace. What I found was music composed of intricate layers elegantly woven into a delicate cascade  of sound.

Absolutely not the kind of music I listen but, the complex sound intrigued me.  This is what I found out about Laboratory Noise.

Their genre is listed as psychedelic/shoegaze/alternative.  Shoegaze??? Nope, never heard of it, thankfully Wikipedia  had.

The shoegazing sound is typified by significant use of guitar effects, and indistinguishable vocal melodies that blended into the creative noise of the guitars. The British music press named this style shoegazing because the musicians in these bands stood relatively still during live performances in a detached, introspective, non-confrontational state, hence the idea that they were gazing at their shoes Wikipedia

Tracks from their CD ‘When Sound Generates Light’  a 1000 limited edition debut album can be heard on their MySpace page. The songs earned them my highest rank, This Music Doesn’t Suck.

The two songs that stood out for me were “Here She Is Evergreen” and “Tesla”. “Telsa”  is very soothing and at the same time invigorating.

Laboratory Noise is a band from the United Kingdom. Members are:
Paul McNulty – guitars / vocals
Paul Griffin – space guitars
Adam Watson – synths / samples
Ben Cleverley – guitar psychosis
Dominic Sheard – bass
Andy Ramsden – drums / vocals
Kerry Ramsay – vocals / percussion

  1. Lol! I’m reading this as I sit next to a box of these Organic Cheddar bunnies that I just finished. The only reason why I bought them was because my 2 yr old stays in the nursery at church and I was looking for an alternative to their kool-aid and goldfish option. But you just reminded me I should make my own. I’ve made the yogurt dough crackers before and they weirdly taste like cheddar.

  5. I do love the way you have framed this difficulty and it does indeed offer us a lot of fodder for thought. However, coming from what I have observed, I really wish as other comments pack on that men and women keep on issue and don’t start on a tirade of the news of the day. Yet, thank you for this fantastic piece and while I do not necessarily agree with it in totality, I regard your point of view.

  12. pracowac sie nei chce- to chyba tobie hahaha och Obecnie sama prowadzę sklep, stoję za ladą i nie widzę powodu dla którego miałabym być nieuprzejma dla moich klientów z których żyję. chyba nie za 1000 zl, a ,moze ktos nei ma znajomosci i ciezko mu sie zalapac bez doswiadczenia do innej pracy niz pracy w sklepie ?? hmmm

  17. knorr, you misunderstand. with regard to canned broth, I’m not saying make your own stock instead, i’m saying use water instead. i know everyone doesn’t have the time or inclination to make stock. What bothers me is the knne-jerk reaction to add badly flavored processed food to what could otherwise be a fine stock or soup.And yes, sometimes you do have to add a half onion and carrot to the pot to boost the flavor.

Hallo Nicole,der Tisch… öhmm.. wo is er nochmal… ach, ja, im Keller verschollen.Noelle geht manchmal mit, aber meistens bring ich ihr die Sachen mit.Ich kenne ihren Geschmack ziemlich gut.. und ein bisschen beeinflusse ich ihn auch noch, zugegeben ;-).Und wenn ihr mal doch etwas nicht gefällt (war aber bisher kaum der Fall), dann ist's um die 2-3 Euro nicht schade ;-).liebste Grüße!Noelle freut sich so über Nathalies Kommentare :-)!

  29. ich denke das hast du schon oft hören müssen aber warum dann JAckopep ? bzw Jacko wenn er das doch? so sehr gehasst hat ? Ansonsten sehr geile Videop wäre noch besser wenns wahr wäre und er echt noch lebt woran ich aber nicht glaube . Und bin selbst großer Fan kennst bestimmt mein Rücken Tattoo

  33. Oh my God! We’re failing our Aliens!! We should reach out to them, help them find a way through these difficult times :(The local sherrif here in Forsyth Co., GA, in a joint task force effort with the ICE, finally busted a group of 30 illegals and deported them this past September. Yeah!!Email your own sherrif and ask them if they have such a task force in operation and how many they have rounded up in the last few years.

  39. I was actually asked not to take photos so I snuck most of them. It was worth it to show everyone. The townhouse is sooo amazing. I wanted to buy everything but unfortunately most everything was very expensive. It’s worth the trip!
