While cruising the net I found the band Laboratory Noise. Intrigued by the name I looked them up on MySpace. What I found was music composed of intricate layers elegantly woven into a delicate cascade of sound.
Absolutely not the kind of music I listen but, the complex sound intrigued me. This is what I found out about Laboratory Noise.
Their genre is listed as psychedelic/shoegaze/alternative. Shoegaze??? Nope, never heard of it, thankfully Wikipedia had.
The shoegazing sound is typified by significant use of guitar effects, and indistinguishable vocal melodies that blended into the creative noise of the guitars. The British music press named this style shoegazing because the musicians in these bands stood relatively still during live performances in a detached, introspective, non-confrontational state, hence the idea that they were gazing at their shoes Wikipedia
Tracks from their CD ‘When Sound Generates Light’ a 1000 limited edition debut album can be heard on their MySpace page. The songs earned them my highest rank, This Music Doesn’t Suck.
The two songs that stood out for me were “Here She Is Evergreen” and “Tesla”. “Telsa” is very soothing and at the same time invigorating.

Last week Ihab’s post discussed many thriller movies, though there weren’t many Hindi ones mentioned- Humraaz is one that is pretty good, and if not for its initial 40 min, that are peppered with songs, it would have been truly a must watch kind of affair.Have already written about Ittefaq, Dhund, and Khamosh- all three of them are pretty good, in fact I would rate all three very highly.

Glad you survived the superstorm, with only relatively minor inconveniences.The city’s resilience is remarkable — the theater a close friend’s son works at was dark Tuesday, but the show went on Wednesday.He had been riding his bike to work (from Park Slope) anyway, so he avoided this week’s subway/traffic problems. Plus, he got married Saturday at a B&B near Ithaca, and planned to stay there through Monday night for a mini-honeymoon. Instead, he and his bride drove back Monday to beat the superstorm.No power, etc., but he got to the theater for Wednesday’s show.

Hi,i dont know where to hang the square mirror in the living room. We have an empty wall faces two windows. And the outside you see from there is a street and house of our neighboor..and i hang mirror face at the door of our bedroom..so before you enter in our bedroom you will see the mirror on the left side of the wall..is it bad?And when you enter from our main door, all you will see is the back door.. what should i do then?
