The inaugural VEGAS ROCKS! Magazine Awards were held at the Las Vegas Hilton’s Elvis Showroom on Sunday and drew a huge crowd of rock celebrities and fans alike. The event honored both local and legendary rockers alike. Among the awards given out were Best Rock Band, Best Punk Band and Best Metal Band. All rock genres got their due at the VRMA’s!
Twisted Sister frontman and reality star Dee Snider was given the Rock n Roll Savior Award and strolled the red carpet with his wife, Suzette.
Lemmy Kilmister from the legendary group Motorhead accepted the Vegas Rocks! Lifetime Legend Award. Fans were lining up early to get a glimpse of this influential rocker.
Other awards included: Rock Group Lifetime Award which was presented to The Scorpions; Best Rock Clock in the Universe award given to Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav and Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughes who accepted the Inspirational Icon Award.
Stars were out in force to lend their support to what is sure to be an annual event.
On hand were Paul Shortino (Rough Cut/Quiet Riot), Ron Keel (Keel), Otis Day (Otis Day and the Knights), Nick Oshiro (Static X), Rick and Corey from the History Channel show “Pawn Stars”, Lita Ford and more.
