Hunky New Zealand Actor Karl Urban made his second appearance at this year’s Star Trek Convention put on by Creation Entertainment at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Urban, who plays Leonard “Bones” McCoy in the Star Trek reboot films directed by J.J. Abrams signed autographs, posed for photo ops and spoke to a packed crowd in the convention’s huge ballroom.

The actor took questions from fans about the next Star Trek film, which he was unable to say much about due to the secrecy surrounding the project and his recent turn on the now defunct television show “Almost Human”.

Urban said that he imagines with the success of the recent films,  he wouldn’t be surprised if they made it into a tv show sometimes soon.  A fan asked if he would be on the show if that happened and he said he was definitely open to the idea.  He also spoke about his love for the “Doctor Who” franchise and he actually called producers a few years ago and said “I love the show, can I be on it?”.  Unfortunately due to his shooting schedule for “Dredd” at the time, he was unable to do it but would still love to be on the show.

Karl also spoke about on-set pranks that he has been a part of, including the now-famous “neutron cream” prank played by Chris Pine and Simon Pegg on the cast during the filming of “Star Trek: Into Darkness”.  He also told the story of how he pranked “Lord of the Rings” co-star Viggo Mortensen by telling press in Spain that Viggo had purchased a goat farm and was going to make goat cheese.  The next day when Viggo spoke to the same press people, they didn’t want to talk about his film, they all wanted to know about the goat farm!  Urban said this was payback for a prank that Viggo had played on him 10 years prior during “Lord of the Rings.”  He advised Chris Pine and Simon Pegg to watch out because “I’m coming for you.”
