Sunday at the 2015 Las Vegas Supernatural Convention at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino was the culmination of the 4-day yearly event and saw a huge crowd turned out to see the shows main stars, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki who play Dean and Sam Winchester on the series.
During their hour-long panel, the stars answered questions about a variety of topics, including their own Paranormal experiences.
Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) spoke about living in the first home he ever bought in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles. There was a time when Ackles was alone in the house and he heard the front door, which had been closed, open and close. He went out to check the house and found that he was alone. Later, he was washing dishes in the kitchen and felt a presence behind him. He turned around slowly – fully expecting to see someone standing there, but he was alone. He told the entity “Look, if you will be cool, I’ll be cool”.
Co-star Jared Padalecki told about the only Paranormal experience he has personally had, which took place when he and wife Genevieve had booked a room at a notoriously haunted Texas hotel for a date night. Padalecki felt a very strong presence in the room and told the entity that he and his wife were trying to have a date night, they had even gotten a sitter for the night, so if it could please leave them alone, they would appreciate it.
Padalecki also told a funny story about he and his wife taking a tour of the allegedly haunted Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA. He figured that since he plays Sam Winchester on the show, that people would recognize him and be asking for photos and autographs while they were on property. He said that he feels like he was a bit full of himself at the time. However, during the tour, no one paid them any attention at all and he was getting a bit let down. At the end of the tour, the tour guide thanked everyone for taking the tour and asked if Jared and his wife would be willing to take photos with the group and he “was like, yeah let’s do this.”
It’s nice to see that the people on a show that is so focused on the Paranormal have had their own real-life Paranormal experiences.
