  1. I'm comforting my self that so many people have problems with the way Google rank content. I publish my own original photos as wallpapers and I used to ranked no 5 for iPad Wallpaper but now I'm not sure where my blog is and on mobile devises I'm nearly non existent. If you search for iPad Wallpaper you will get many sites with copied content from flickr etc. Anyway im not impressed…

  2. home before dark – Welcome! I recognize your name from many insightful comments on other blogs I read. I love Jennifer’s blog and as you can see, loved this book. You make a great point about his style progression, which I do indeed think has something to do with wanting to pare down as we get older – he is older than he looks – I believe 74. And I remember being a little surprised, and amused, by his NYSD interview!

  3. Indeed. As a rule of thumb, when poised to use the expression ‘begs the question’, be wary of following with a question. For an argument to be circular, it must end in a conclusion. Now, I’m not some kind of prescriptivist usage communist. It’s just that when we have so few sentences in english that are able deftly to flag the presence of a subtle logical fallacy, it seems a shame to put one to death by ambiguity.

  5. Thank you very much for that video. That wasn't really what I was picturing even though you described it accurately. I can see how you can go so fast now although you make it look pretty effortless. It certainly looks more hunched over than I thought but I will definitely be using that technique tomorrow. I have to agree with you on the cycling thing. I ride to work but I always pick hiking or running over going for a ride. (maybe because I have to work on bikes all day ha ha)

  6. Thanks, regarding this fine information, was a perfect distraction for browsing for me personally since i simply just broke up along with my ex-boyfriend cause i realized that this prick published very private photos of me at a some stupid internet site called . How can this dog dare that? – What a Prick!

  7. "The best way to reduce third world birthrates is free birth control, urbanization, and equalizing the economic and education status of women"Bob is right about this. As for left wing nervousness about addressing overpopulation concerns, I agree with that too. I wish that more liberals would address overpopulation concerns in the developing world and in the US. No one on the left or the right will address this and those that do are dismissed as kooks (see former CO Gov. Dick Lamm)

  8. Of course the spending/borrowing questions will pass. The same reason the incumbents will be re-elected. 800,000 state employees all of whom know more borrowing will result in additions to their numbers making the out come of future elections even a greater fate accompli. NJ is now a Catch-22 state. And if you think you have seen corruption in NJ…You ain’t seen nothing yet…just wait till the lame ducks get in session. There will not be a jail large enough to hold all the crooks that will be feeding at the trough when they are through.

  10. Would Filemot agree that a grace period is a natural complement to First to Invent but does not sit easily with First to File? Would Filemot then agree that USA should better optimise its FtI system while ROW optimises its FtF system. Two (and only two) patent systems in the world, both optimised, makes a better business environment than world-wide "harmonisation" on the basis of a foul compromise that is a bonanza only for patent litigators. We have our clients to think about here chaps.

  11. Oh how I love it!! I have a question for you, though…how do you plan to quilt it? I would love to make a quilt with some velveteen fabrics, but what is stopping me so far is wondering how to quilt it. I don't want to invest in the velveteen fabric (since they are considerably expensive), but then ruin it when quilting. I'd love to hear how you plan to quilt yours (and would love some photos when its finished)!

  12. Actually, Antwerpen, Luik and Mechelen and some other mapped cities aren't Dutch cities but Belgian. Could be that these cities were part of the Netherlands then, but they're not nowadays. Unfortunatly Hilversum, the city where I was born, grew up and still live in is not to be found.

  13. I was drawing parallels between Corzine and Christie. It’s amusing to me when a politician, of any flavor, does something stupid and has to spend the following several weeks explaining their actions or “hummana hummana-ing” Ralph Kramden style as the public is asked to accept the dubious propriety of such things as “loans,” etc.

  15. I’m sure what you are saying is true in the aggregate. I’m dealing with very low-income folks, often unemployed, often with poor high school records, etc. Folks who are dealing with very tough odds but want to make a change. They are really cut out of PSE (at least the expensive, university type) because they can’t afford the tuition to take a course at a time (“Special student”) to qualify for admission to a BA. I’ll look forward to a post on this if you can muster one. Thanks

  16. I wonder if it’s also because some of those people might know Matth or at least recognize him from the bakery/market. Kath really doesn’t seem to do much beyond sit at home and go to Body Pump, so it makes sense that Matth would have a much bigger circle than her. That would probably piss her off even more though, since she sees herself as a local celebrity.

  17. Wow, what a history lesson. Thanks. (Maybe you should advertise your blog to homeschooling moms; “Plug in their little ones during History time & enjoy some ‘me time’?!”)I did find it disturbing that even two centuries ago people were doing horrible and insane things and then claiming, “God told me to.”(I guess at least I can rule out Diet Coke with all its vices as the real reason for such insanity)Thanks for the post; now go finish that Valentine you are making for Leon.

  18. Meta-discussion. Off Topic:Does anybody know a good article on various models that evaluates them hemispherically? As there is a lot of talk of the see-saw mechanism (in decadal-centurial scale) during the glacial terminations, might this effect be noticeable also in shorter periods of time? Annually, semi-annually, seasonally, monthly, even weekly? If a model is behind in time on NH is it ahead in time on SH? If they are, what have they omitted?
