I know what your are thinking, “What or who is a Leith?” Wikipedia had that answer.
Leith is a district and former municipal burgh in the north of the city of Edinburgh at the mouth of the Water of Leith and is the port of Edinburgh, Scotland. It lies on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, in the unitary local authority of the City of Edinburgh. Firth is the word in the Lowland Scots language used to denote various coastal waters in Scotland. In mainland Scotland it is used to describe a large sea bay, or even a strait.
Billy Boyd is best known for his portrayal of Peregrin “Pippin” Took in Peter Jackson’s epic film trilogy of The Lord of the Rings as well as roles in movies such as Master and Commander: the Far Side of the World. He has toured the UK in stage productions including Trainspotting, Widows and Caledonia Dreaming.
Stephen Greenhorn is a hugely successful playwright and screenwriter whose many credits include Dr Who, River City & Passing Places. Director James Brining is Artistic Director of Dundee Rep and their recent productions include Gypsy, Romeo & Juliet and A Christmas Carol for which James has just been nominated for a CATS award for best director.
The Proclaimers have had huge success across the globe with hits such as I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), I’m on My Way and Letter From America and have written stunning songs that have ‘a bite and pathos to them that make them feel as if they have been wrenched straight from the heart’ (The Times).
