One of the best loved Disney franchises in recent years has to be Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow is iconic and people all over the world love that character and the films.
Disney is currently in production on “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” and at the recent D23 Expo in Anaheim, Johnny Depp made an appearance in full Captain Jack persona.
Depp came onstage eating grapes and began to throw them to the audience who were absolutely delighted to see the star in costume.
Although there was no footage shown from the new film, a major announcement that Orlando Bloom would be reprising his role as Will Turner in the franchise was met with thunderous applause. Will Turner is a beloved part of the earlier films and the franchise has certainly not been the same without him, so this was a welcome announcement. Also returning will be Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa. David Wenham (Lord of the Rings) and Javier Bardem (Skyfall) will also be joining the cast.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will hit theatres in July of 2017.
